Santa came, and so did the sick bug

Luke's first Christmas could not have been better.  He had a great time opening presents.  On Christmas Eve, we skyped with Joe's parents while Luke opened their presents and some of ours.  He got tired though so we fed him and he went to bed.  He got to open all the rest of his presents Christmas Day, except for the clothes.  If it didn't light up or make noise when he opened it he was on to the next toy.  He also got mad when I would take away one toy he just opened.  But soon figured out there was a lot more to come.  Joe, Gracie, and I stayed up and finished opening our presents.  Luke, Joe, and Gracie all got up Christmas Day and went to church (I went with Joe and Luke on Christmas Eve) while I stayed home and started cooking.  Becky and Steve came over and ate before Gracie had to go to work.  That was a change since we are always going over to their house to eat.  I made a ham, mashed potatoes, and Becky came over early and made her homemade noodles.  I also made this dessert called The Ultimate Chocolate Trifle.  It was AMAZING if I do say so myself.
Doesn't it just make your mouth water
I think Luke's favorite toy by far was his Cat truck he can ride on.  Its just like daddy's truck he works on at work.  He loves to honk the horn on it.

His Aunt Gracie got him a huge stuffed alligator (don't ask how she got started on the alligator).  He loves it also, although in this picture he looks like he's trying to get away from it.

So overall, it was a great first Christmas for Luke.  There are so many more pictures that I have on snapfish or I will put on facebook.

Unfortunately along with Santa came the sick bug.  I felt like I was trying to come down with something for a couple days before Christmas, but I was taking vitamin C to try and kill it before it got started.  Luke came down with a cold the day after Christmas and he was pretty miserable.  Poor guy.  I hate when he's sick because I feel so helpless.  The day after that I came down with a cold that I am fighting hard now.  And today Joe says he feels like he's getting a cold.  So it has made the rounds around our house.  Gracie was here yesterday, I wonder if she got sick too?  Joe and I never got sick before we had Luke, but babies don't have as good immune system as we do, so now he passes his stuff on to us, which is fine.  I would take getting sick any day over him suffering.  So much for all the organizing we were going to do over Christmas break.

This is all for now in this blog.  Luke's asleep so I am going to get some sleep too!  I feel tomorrow will be a long day!

Santa's coming!

It is finally Christmas Eve and I can't wait till Luke can tear into his presents!  I hope he's in a decent mood when we get home from church and nanny and poppys!  When I took pictures of him next to the tree for the Christmas cards he dug into one of his packages so I think he will be pretty entertained opening all his gifts!  There is a slightly ridiculous number of presents under the tree.  I will post pictures of it once I take them LOL.  I've had way too much fun shopping for Christmas presents this year, and Joe thinks I am crazy for all I bought for Luke, but he's my only child and it's Christmas.  I can't help it.  I always had insane Christmas' too but I was an only child, something that Luke won't be God willing.  I figure your children are the most important things in our lives, whats wrong with giving them what you can.  When he gets older, he will learn that not everything in life is always fair and there are tons of children who don't get anything for Christmas.  All in good time when he can understand.  But for right now, I'm spoiling the heck out of him!  I am still amazed by him everyday.  He is just the perfect baby.  Joe and I are kind of scared to have another one since Luke has been so easy!  He fusses when he's hungry or tired.  That's it.  He is such a happy baby.  He's sitting in his bouncing seat now and has been sitting there for about a hour just entertaining himself.  Which is letting us get loads of laundry done.  No pun intended.  I can't even count the number of loads we have done.  We, mainly I, was so far behind.  Our bath tub had turned into the laundry basket of my clothes.  I don't mind doing laundry but I hate folding and putting it away.  By now, most of you have probably got our cards so I will share some pictures from that session to wrap it up.  The next blog post will surely be full of fun stories!  Its so cute, all I have to do is have my camera out and say smile and Luke just cheeses.  I have taught him well!!  Merry Christmas to everyone!  Post more soon!!

I have forgotten all about blogging!

I haven't posted a blog in forever!  I have been super busy with jewelry making.  I was in a bazaar today with a friend. I didn't sell anything, but overall none of the other vendors did.  It was a crappy day and I don't think much advertising was done, so we are trying another bazaar Wednesday that is downtown so I think (hope) we will do better at that one.

Luke is getting SO big and growing up so fast!  I can't believe he is almost 7 months old!  Where has my little baby went?  I feel like it was just yesterday he was this size!

He went to the doctor at the beginning of last month.  He was 24 lb 5 oz and 28 7/8 inches long.  He's such a big boy!  Everyone LOVES his cheeks.  He now fully rolls over all the way, and all the place!  Who needs to crawl when you can roll, although tonight for the first time he got on his knees with his butt in the air for just a second so it can't be far away!

Hey mom...look at me!

Now I'm over here!

He loves balls.  We sit and roll them back and forth to each other.  He has started, what we call, "cheesin"  He smiles real big and practically shuts his eyes.  He is such a happy baby.  Except for today.  He was up till almost 11 the night before last, so he was a tired baby today.  He is very into being watched while he plays and doesn't really like it when you leave his sight.  He reaches for people now (he's been reaching for everything else) but now when he wants me or Joe he reaches up at us.  Its just so cute.  It melts my heart.  He's still doing really good with his solids.  He loves fruit, not a fan of vegetables, but he will eat them.  He likes anything mixed with sweet potatoes.

My craft room is finally (almost) finished!  Everything is done except a few odds and ends, but I have moved my jewelry making stuff down there and I love it!  Joe and his dad did an amazing job on it!  Its also a great place to wrap presents which I have started already.  There are so many!  Mostly toys for Luke.  Toys are so much cooler than when I was a kid.  Luke is definitely spoiled already!  All he has to do is smile at a toy and I get it!  HAHA.

He likes to come play in the craft room

Gracie and I took Luke yesterday to a Christmas thing that DMH had for their employees.  Luke got to meet Santa and Santa gave him a teddy bear.  He just kinda looked at him like...ok.  Were going to go see Santa at the mall and get pictures taken so daddy can take him.

hi Santa!

My precious boy

That is really all I can think of to blog about right now.  I'm sure I will think of tons more as soon as I finish so I will have to post that later.  For now, I am going to bed, before 9.  I'm so old!

New mats he loves to play on! And the best part, wipe with swiffer to clean off dog hair!

Happy naked baby
